LISA RAUTENBERG

PIANO, VIOLIN & VIOLA

Lisa Rautenberg performs as a soloist, chamber musician, recording artist and conductor. She gave her New York City solo concerto debut at the Mostly Mozart festival in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center on baroque violin, and performed her New York City recital debut in Merkin Hall playing virtuoso masters for the baroque violin, the first modern-day performances on original instruments of works by Paganini.

Lisa is well versed in piano, violin and viola. She will continue to instruct violin and viola but will introduce her piano lesson plans this summer term as she begins instructing Calvary Music School students ages 12 years old and younger.

In 2019 she gave her professional conducting debut conducting the Hartford Symphony Orchestra on their Masterworks series. Lisa can be heard on over 100 recordings on labels such as SONY Classical, Virgin Classics, Newport Classics, MCA, Decca, Nonesuch, Telarc, Champignon International and Deutsche Grammophone. She is a featured soloist in every concerto on her recording of Bach’s complete Brandenburg Concertos, on the Sony label which also features four other violin concerti. Her album on Sony of the Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi has won numerous awards, as well as another Sony recording of the Schubert string quintet in her chamber group with Anner Bylsma and l'archi Budelli. Ms. Rautenberg recorded seven albums with this chamber group using the famous Stradivari quartet of instruments from the Smithsonian, and other Stradivari on loan from other museums. Ms. Rautenberg has performed concertos in many of the major halls in America and Europe including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Kennedy Center, Orchestra Hall Chicago, Boston Symphony Hall, Orchestra Hall Detroit, Hercules Hall, Concertgebow, BBC London, and at the Proms festival. Ms. Rautenberg holds a degree in violin performance with distinction from Indiana University, where she was a student of Josef Gingold. She studied early violin techniques with Marilyn McDonald. Lisa is the Concertmaster of the Camerata Orchestra at Yale, and is the Associate Concertmaster of the Hartford Symphony.
